Does NFCU have any grace period past the CC payment due date?

Good morning all, 

 Hopefully someone has some relevant experience with an NFCU CC here and can provide some insight. I've tried searching previous posts but none are relatively recent.  

My NFCU card "minimum payment due date" was 7/2. I've had a lot on my plate jobwise over the last two weeks and then with this holiday weekend, I lost track of the days and forgot to submit payment on that due date. (I have since turned autopay on as of this morning to keep this from happening in the future.)  I signed into my account this morning and see that I have a past due notice tagged to my CC account. I immediately submitted payment for both the past due balance plus the following month. It is currently processing but I was told by an NFCU rep that it wouldn't post until the next business day. In this case, that means it won't post to the account until 7/7.  This means it will post 5 days after the minimum payment due date. 

The card statement cut this morning (payment due date is always the 2nd, and the new card statements always post on the 5th of each month)  The statement from this morning shows that I have a past due balance due to the missed payment as of three days ago. (today is three days past that payment due date) 

Should I be expecting a late payment score bomb to strike on my credit reports soon? Or is there a grace period of more than 5 days past the minimum due date with Navy Federal?  

Thanks for any insight. This is pretty embarassing. My reports are currently without any negative reporting and they've been that way for several years now. I'm hoping I avoid a credit score disaster due to this.

late payments aren't reported to credit unless you are 30 days late or more, so nothing will happen to your credit

assuming this is the first late payment, I'm sure navy will remove the fee if you ask nicely and inform them that you enabled autopay to prevent this in the future 

navy though, can hold this against you and might cite it for a bit as a denial reason for new account requests/CLIs

@iowe , FYI, the grace period is from the statement cut date, not payment date. Keep an eye on account because you may be charged trailing interest on the next statement. When outside the grace period it sometimes takes one or two statements to reset so check account on statement cut date and pay balance due right away or interest continues to accrue until it is restored.

Your credit is too good to let it get ruined over something like this. If your normal calendars are too busy, create a credit/budget calendar on your phone with recurring reminders of payment dates a week, and two days in advance so you never miss a payment again. I also have account anniversary and CLI request dates set up on mine. I do this the first week of January every year, it's super easy(duplicate option) and it works perfectly.

While autopay is a great tool, situations still happen so make sure you don't become lax when autopay is turned on. Set up alerts to confirm payment was made. Technical glitches are known to happen.

I was a few days late and they held it against me for a CLI. I'm sure it will buff out in a few months.
