Double Report?

I have a wamu/providan account that shows 120 days past due with zero balance. It was turned over to Portfolio recovery they show up for the same account under collections. Is this considered a duplicate for the same account. The account was settled and paid in full.

yes it was settled as they were threating to sue and i paid through a lawyer. It never went to court or anything like that. I just settled with hem for about 2500 on a 3500 balance

Are they reporting it as settled, and I presume they sent you a 1099 for the $1000?
 
The $1000 they settled could be used to negotiate a PFD.
 
I would first start with a GW letter to the OC. Keep trying until they respond. If they say no, then I would offer 'em a PFD. Offer maybe $200 of the settled amount in exchange for a deletion.
