EQ REFUSES to spell DH's last name correctly

We've been through this 2 or 3 times already.  EX and TU have DH's name spelled perfectly.  EQ does not.  At least twice we've sent copies of DH's drivers license and social security card and even a credit card statement.  For one brief period (June 25 - July 2, right after the first dispute letter) they got DH's name right.  But on July 2, they changed his name back to the wrong spelling and advised him to provide his creditors with the update.  On August 29 they sent DH the second confirmation with the wrong last name.

On this last round they did get the spelling correct on DH's first name, but they insist on spelling his last name as P_____ instead of R_____.

I can't imagine why they would continue to spell his last name wrong.  I honestly don't know how to convince the idiots at EQ that his last name isnt spelled with a P.  THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Is there any way to find out what name each creditor is using on his report?  Maybe it's one creditor in particular that's messing up DH's name.  Possibly a CA or an old account on his report.

I'd say this is it. GIGO (garbage in, garbage out)

If a creditor has an error, that error is going to keep refreshing every time they update. From the dates you provided, I would suspect that it's a creditor that reports somewhere around the end of the month.

Don't know why it only changes on EQ, unless it's a report only on EQ, or EQ is more sensitive to updates in the name field.

Re: EQ REFUSES to spell DH's last name correctly

This keeps happening to me with TU and my birthday. Every month they keep changing my birthday to say I was born in November, which I was not. I have disputed it a zillion times, they change it and it comes back. I can only assume it is one of my creditors with an incorrect date as well. I guess I could call them all to make sure, but argh. Who wants to do that!

If you use TrueCredit or one of the monitoring services, you can see on which date your birthdate flips again. That would narrow it down to a creditor or two which had just updated. Although TU being TU, maybe not. Smiley Tongue
