Ugh this company is the WORST! I log in and the freeze center spins and spins until it pops this nonsense.

Equifax is really crappy, it lets put freeze on my wife's account but whenever I try to unfreeze it ask to send identity proof, we already did that once and figured it wouldn't be issue anymore and it still asks it, I am thinking of permanently unfreezing it as it's a pain and you need to send proof via snail mail.
I'm seeing the same thing.

How do you do it with the automated phone system now that they got rid of PINs? Verify security questions?
I am not needing it unfrozen right now. As long as I can get it there by the 15th, I'll not blow a gasket... Of course their website says that my report has been lifted despite the lift expiring so who knows if its even frozen... 🤦♂️

My one experience w/ trying to do it over the phone with them was being repeatedly routed to the fraud dept where a rep would ask us a dozen questions (they would ask why my spouse wanted access to their report three or four times) and then tell us that they couldn't help us or transfer us to another department b/c the report was flagged for fraud. The rep wouldn't tell us why it had a fraud flag or how to remove it, but there's no such flag visible on ACR, MyEquifax, or any other report source we have. MyEquifax works fine for them when it works so idk.

I don't recall the exact steps.
Originally, I think I did the freeze online with personal data requested.
To unfreeze, I called the number listed in your image. The promps should talk you through the process,. e.g. SSN, DOB, etc. I used the mobile number they had on file with me.

If one method works, the other one doesn't. You'll have to pass 5 verification questions after inputting personal info.
Yeah that's way too much work... I will wait and see if their system comes back up.
It's up for me now.
