Re: FICO Resilience Index - a new nonsense number

Update on my end...not one change on my index score. I paid off my car (already planned) and it made no difference though one of my factors was installment loans. I have my student loan (which currently shows 0 payment due b/c of the pandemic) and our house left. I have a "high revolving account balance" with 2k outstanding on one card. The limit on the card is 21.5k. I am using 2% of my overall limits. I think 48 is where I will sit unless paying off the card does anything in the next couple of months. I guess the 5% they notate means 5% of one card. We shall see once I pay it down. I just disregard this score unless it begins to factor into creditworthiness in the future (if it's not already). I can't help but be inquisitive though!9C9E3B0A-5A26-4BFF-80C4-5017B0EA9AA6.jpeg

FICO issued a press release about this score and it triggered a flurry of articles in the mainstream press. The Washington Post published an article about this 'new score'. Plenty more articles on Google here. Lots of article authors are wondering if/when consumers will be able to obtain their score. lol The first score was submitted to this thread on March 29, 2020.

And as always - lower rating (higher number) doesn't mean that person has a bad credit profile in any way. This score is really sensitive to balance amounts and it doesn't matter if you have a 600 or 850.

I know I'm late to this thread, but this post by @Anonymous is spectacular 😆

My rating is a 53. I have about 78% of my auto loan left ($11,660) and low utilization on my cards ($25 balance out of $35,600 total). No mortgage or other types of accounts. My two flags are:

1. High Installment Balance

2. Short Credit History

NEW Credit Scoring Index...?

My local news just said FICO has created a new credit scoring index called the Resilliance Index -- in response to the Pandemic -- which scores borrowers on their Spending Habits and rates them from 1 to 99 -- lower being better...

Is this true? How's it work?

Any details are appreciated!!!

P.S.

I DON'T SPEND... 99% of ALL my transactions are through ACH via my Checking Account -- I doubt I spend $200 a month on Credit Cards -- how will this affect my rating?

Hello Charmante,

Basically it's a "Stress" test for an individual to see if they can handle a downturn in the economy. Banks like Citi, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc. have a stress a similar test. Keeping your debt low and your payments on time are key.
Score ranges are listed below. The lower the better.
1-44 resilient

44-59 moderate
60-69 sensitive
70-99 very sensitive

Hi @Charmante . I think you'll do fine with this score, with that kind of low balance.

If you go back a few posts you'll see how 31 others ranked with it, and I can tell you everyone that did poorly on this score can get any card they want at any time.

Here's what FICO had to say about it: https://www.fico.com/blogs/fico-resilience-index-now-available-lenders-pilot

Pretty much every article on the net took their facts from that press release.
