General Information about this score |
This Resilience Index score is included with a myFICO subscription. It will be shown on the dashboard.
And as always - lower rating (higher number) doesn't mean that person has a bad credit profile in any way. This score is really sensitive to balance amounts and it doesn't matter if you have a 600 or 850. |

Hey @Anonymous what do you reckon will happen when I refi my heloc vs. converting it to a personal loan? Can't decide which way to go as far as fico scoring would be concerned.
I don't have an open personal loan, have plenty of revolving. I do have a couple of pd off personal loans and I think they'll be on my cr maybe another couple of years perhaps. So would it be better for me to convert instead of refi and pickup some pts. having an open pl?
Shoot! eta: also meant as far as this resilience score too.

Go with the one that saves you the most money. Let FICO complain about 'lack of recent installment loan activity' because it really doesn't mean much.
Once you get a new PL they're just gonna complain about having one. lol 'High installment loan balances', until it's less than 9.5% of the loan amount, at which point you get a nice score boost.
I wonder if my score will go up if I pay off my auto loan. Currently, I'm at 47 for two reasons, available credit and the number of open revolvers.

I mean, you'd think it would, right? Lower balance, less debt, A Good Thing™.
I just don't know for sure if the lower debt would outweigh the hit on credit mix, but I think it would and I'd pay off the loan anyway.
@Anonymous <9.5% ? Lol, forget that. Thx!
@GApeachy wrote:@Anonymous <9.5% ? Lol, forget that. Thx!
Yep, it's not <8.99% which was common advice on these forums for years.
I thought it seemed reasonable but I still tested it myself and found you can go right up to 9.49 without triggering a jump to the next higher 10%+ interval that can cause point loss.
And then I just asked, and got an answer from FICO's Principal Scientist that confirms it: This post.
Apparently I am now resilient....no idea what happened. My previous factors were high installment loan due and too many open credit cards. Now I have no red flags. I have the same amount of credit cards and the same payment amount on my installment loans (same amount of loans). I have had one change of paying my student loan down to 87%. My credit card balance is consistently $25-100 on one card reporting. I'm wondering if it was just time...

Meet the creator of the Resilience Index.
My own update for February. Still no change, even with an increase of $236 for aggregate balance reporting. I went from $1,571 to $1,807 and kept the same 56 score with same 2 red flags. Same 4-of-4 cards reporting a balance with the same 0 scorable inquiries at EQ.
EQ8 at 746 with 4-of-4 cards reporting a balance at or under 9%. I don't wanna see my AZEO scores because I know it's a big boost on my scorecard and I'll get obsessive about keeping it there.
