Has anyone used Identity Fraud / Victim Resolution Services Elite?

I discovered this service as a member benefit for NEA members.

Among the bullet points, it *appears* to offer monitoring and reports "in real-time", for all three CRAs.

Is there anyone that can give some first-hand knowledge of this service?

There are two components of a good identity theft program.

The first is bcoming aware of any issue of potential identity theft associated with any reporting of information to a CRA as soon as possible, thus permitting the consumer to address the reporting without extended damage to their credit score and credit reports.  Obviously, getting any identity fheft related information removed from your credit report before others pull your report is ideal.

That is the benefit of the identity theft monotiroing services.  A necessary componet to timely become aware of any identity theft.

Does the service you refer to additionally offer assistance in then filing the necessary affidavits with the CRAs to get the inforation blocked from your credit report?

The second component is to then take your own ommediate action to get the information removed from your credit report.

That involves filing a police report and sending it to the FCRA under the idenitity thefr provisions of FCRA 605B.

Your sworn assertion of potential identity theft within a police report is then basis for requiring the CRA to immediately block that information from future credit reprts.

Your identity theft/police report can also be used as basis to attack the identity theft itself.  If you send a copy to the cretior, it compels them to provide all business records in their possession pertaining the the alleged identity theft information.
