I recently was past due on a credit card payment for the very first time. I'm pretty sure it was more than 60 days late, but definitely not over 90. I made the payment in April, and just checked my credit report online, and no late payments show up. The credit report even shows the status for this card as green (OK).
Does this mean I'm safe?? Or do credit card companies sometimes update past information? They even went as far as lowering my credit limit about a thousand bucks, and this update shows on my credit report. I don't really care about the lower credit limit - as long as my FICO score stays as high as it is!
I'm even thinking of writing a Thank You email to the credit card company for not reporting me as late. Or would this tempt them to fix the payment status on my credit report to LATE??
