I just received a notice that  a charged off credit card has increased the amount I owe by 85.  Can they do this?  What should I do?

A notice from whom?  What does your credit report say?  Details please.

the original creditor was Providian and the account was charged off

and looks like this CA is reaging my account??

looks like they are adding interest to it.  I would send a DV letter.

Yes they can add int.   What is your SOL?  and if the date that you are talking about is   date reported it is not re-aged
