If this was a legit late (30+ day) payment, I have little doubt that the OP would be able to get it addressed and removed with GW. Maybe not on the first try, but definitely after a few. Assuming everything he stated is factual, any EO that takes a look at his otherwise stellar payment history and the fact that a GC was issued in place of adjusting the account will see that he didn't display inferior creditworthiness. Therefore, I see the late payment being removed quite easily.
