Inquiries Question

Is it worth disputing an inquiry that I didnt authorize? If so who do I dispute it with? Company or credit bureaus?

The inquires are affecting my score.

Re: Inquiries Question

Welcome.. whether or not you auth is irrelevant. What matter is if the puller had permissible purpose.

Re: Inquiries Question

THANK YOU so much for this info.

Another question for you: So if the inquiry isn't allowable it stays there?

Can you explain a little more about that please?

Thanks so much!

Re: Inquiries Question

Well if puller did not have PP they need to delete per FCRA or you sue for $1000.

Have you done any business with these people? Applied for ANY credit, any outstanding collections, ect.?

Re: Inquiries Question

One is from a collections I have. So because I have an account with this agency they can pull my report at any time and it go on my credit as a hard inquiry?

I dont know where the other one came from. The ones for which I authorized says PP the others dont.

Yep. They have PP then.
For the other one, send the non-PP letter I posted.

Re: Inquiries Question

I have another question: Suppose there is an inquiry there that states PP but you dont remember authorizing, applying for credit, etc with this company. Can you write a letter asking them to show proof? if they do send back proof does that affect you even more?

Just trying to get all the fact.

Remember... if they have PP it does not matter if you authorized. Whether or not they send proof has nothing to do with your score. All FICO cares about is if they Inq is or isn't there.
