Inquirys really stay on for 2 years, 1 month?

Its been 2 years. Why are my inquirys still there?

Went to dispute this on EX and it just said it was scheduled to come off August 2012. Its from July 2010.

This sound right to you all?

Yep ~ it will drop sometime in August, depends on the CRA.

The 2 years is just a convention that the CRAs came up with.   The FCRA doesn't mandate any record retention guidelines for inquiries.

And it's ignored by FICO scoring after the first 12 months, so you don't really have to worry about it.    It will drop, maybe August 1....maybe August 31.
