Late Removal Requested deleted instead

I requested that Experian investigate a one year old 30 day late on my credit report.  Unfortunately, the creditor that was reporting the 30 day late has gone out of business.  As a result, Experian removed the entire account from my credit report.

Why wouldn't Experian simply remove the late that I requested be investigated? Why remove the entire creditor from my report?

I am concerned about how deleting this creditor from my record will affect my overall credit score because I had two good (recent) years of on time payment history with this vendor and I only wanted the one 30 day late removed from my report.  Anyone had a similar experience? I am thinking I should try to get Experian to add the creditors information back to my credit report?

Unfortunately, this is always a danger when disputing lates.  In your case, since the creditor wasn't around when EX went out to verify, they couldn't verify anything and as a consequence deleted the whole TL.  They do not have to do it that way, but it does happen.

I'm not sure if anyone has been successful it having TLs that cannot be reverified put back on their report.

I can't seem to get a TL re-inserted that the OC did send a refresh and I never disputed it.
