Late credit card payment question

I logged into my amazon account today and i noticed i was 4 days late on my payment.  they charged me a fee but my biggest worry is on my credit report.  will that show up on my credit report as a missed payment?

No, you have to be 30 days late before they will report a late

Correct they won't report, however watch the account synch has been closing accounts like crazy for no real reason .This unfortunately may give them a reason 😞

Re: Late credit card payment question

Congrats on getting 14 cards. Good luck remembering all those due dates.

Time to set up a regular worksheet list with all of them, and the Statement date for each account. As the days go by in the month, consult the list regularly, at least once per week, to not miss when each statement comes out. Take action on payments well ahead of the payment due date, not "Oh, it's due today. I think I'll log in and make a payment." #BadHabit

You've made good progress on building credit. It only takes one 30-day late to start causing problems that take 7 years to clear up.

I have 19 cards and do not know the due date on any of them. I go through and pay every card weekly, or every 2 week at worst depending on if there are pending charges that I want to post before paying. I think there are likely many here that pay no attention to due dates. They are also set to autopay in case I were to forget, which is very unlikely unless hospitalized. Remembering due dates is not needed.

Re: Late credit card payment question

Take it as a lesson learned and engage autopay. Even if its just for minimum payments. It will save you a lot of stress. And also save you some lost money in late fees and lowered score if it were to roll passed 30 days late.

As Sarge says, I don't know all my due dates. However, I do know autopay is engaged and if they don't pull the payment. It's on them and not you.

Remember, It takes nearly a lifetime to build good credit. It only takes 30 days to screw it up for 7 years!

OP doesn't seem to be paying every card weekly, so perhaps a list of card statement dates would be helpful to the OP?

I only pay monthly, so my trigger date is the statement date. I reconcile the statement as soon as it is available and re-verify autopay is handling things in a few weeks. Then I stop worrying about it for another month.

Re: Late credit card payment question

I was 2 days late on my Amazon chase card couple years ago.I called them and they waived the late charge fee.6 mts later when i asked for an increase i was denied because of that late payment 6 mts prior.Lesson learn....Credit card companies keep internal record on every activity.
