Legal Item filed

Smiley Sad Is it true that a Legal Item can hurt your credit score? If it is, what's the solution to removing it or should I keep it there until it is clears?
I have the same item on TU and EQ for $2100.00 and has been filed since 4/06.

Thanks For all ya's help

Re: Legal Item filed

Were you ever served with a summons and complaint? It's definitely a negative TL that hurts your FICO score.

Re: Legal Item filed

That was my next question. I can't find any account that matches that balance on any of my 3 reports.
If i Dispute it, what's my reason?
