Macys Store Card, Closed and CO in 9/2016
PIF 6/2019. Final deletion date somewhere in 2023, thats fine, but Macy's continues to report CO monthly into the payment history, effectively, renewing the CO every month. Literally just reported CO for June 2020, and my EQ says 1 month since last late.
After disputing with bureaus and Macy's internal disputes, no changes. FIled complaint with CFPB.
Its reporting correct on EX and TU......Just EQ is reported this way. What the Hell do i do from here??? Do I have a chance with calling EQ straight up, asking for a super, and having look at it??? Since I've exhausted all options and FCRA time limits passed, should I request to have it outright removed now instead of updated???
Also, what is the exact violation here??? Knowingly reporting false/inaccurate info??? Need some help guys. I don't get why Macy's just doesn't see this.
File a complaint against EQ for failure to conduct reasonable investigation.
When you do, upload copies of your reports prior to correction and report showing it corrected on the other two.
Calling EQ usually ends up in disaster, they would most likely treat it as another dispute, which can further hurt your score if it somehow comes back verified again.
I just did exactly what you said. Hopefully they can resolve this somewhat in a timely manner. I wont hold my breath. You are absolutely right, calling Equifax could resuly in further damage.
Thank you for your help, much appreciated. You would think something like this is clear as day. It seems as if everyone involved is making it harder than it actually has to be.
When it comes to EQ, nothing is clear.
Good luck and hope you get it resolved quickly.
Please come back and update once you receive a response.
