My credit card reports to only Equifax. How can I report to Experian and/or TransUnion?

I just graduated, moved from Alabama to Indiana and I wanted to check on my credit and perhaps get a few more credit accounts before trying to buy a house next year. I have no debt (other than some money on a credit card), I have bought my car with cash, generally, i buy everything in cash. I only have one credit card from my credit union which I found out last week only reports to Equifax (very big down in the South). SO my TransUnion and Experian credit reports are completely empty. I now have a FICO score of 728 on Equifax and less than 20% debt on a $4000 credit limit. I have had my credit card for almost 3 years.

I have been rejected for credit everywhere because all they look at is TransUnion or Experian. All the utilities companies demand a deposit, my banks won't give me a credit card. I even applied for a capital one card but they rejected me because they say I have few revolving accounts. Is it possible for me to report my credit card to TransUnion or/and Experian? The only other alternative is to get a secured credit card and start building my credit from scratch again.

Or open a card with a creditor that pulls Equifax eta: so that you can continue to build on your Equifax history.

Alliant CU comes to mind.  And they'll report to all 3.

Cabela's as well - the advantage of Cabelas's is that they are a bank card, which FICO looks for.

I really like both these cards.

About all you can do is ask the CCC if they would be willing to report to TU and EX.  Not all creditors report to all CRAs.  The creditor has to pay a fee to the CRAs in order to use their services.

Unfortunetly if you CU says they only report to Equifax, there's not much you can do. I'm surprised you got rejected with Capital One, I apped right after I turned 18 and was approved with absolutely nothing on all three of my CRs. May I know which CapOne card you apped for?

OP: I would search on the forum to find the cards which pull EQ exclusively and apply for the easiest one of them. If you get the card, nothing better, else you may have to talk to some other CU who pull EQ (I know Digital Federal pulls EQ exclusively and reports to all).

I don't think you can do anything to make your CU report to all CB (I don't think there is a law requiring them to. I can be wrong though)

Welcome to the forums.

It could just be a simple clerical error that this account is not being reported to all 3 CRA's but lenders can choose which CRA to send information and in fact don't ever have to report account information.

If you haven't already you might call the CU and confirm that they only report to EQ. I think it's worth a call.

Re: My credit card reports to only Equifax. How can I report to Experian and/or TransUnion?

Thanks so much guys. I did call my credit union and they said they only report to Equifax. As to the capital one card, I applied for the capital one cash rewards for new comers as I have only been in the US for 4 years. I will try to look for a card that pulls only Equifax scores for approval. Is there any website or way I find out before I apply so I don't further ruin whatever credit I have left?

If you ask that question in the Credit Cards board you'll get lots of advice!!
