I was doing fine and paying my bills on time for the first year and a half. In feb/march of 06 I was flat broke. I was not able to pay my bills that I had accumulated as a result of grad school. Long story short, my cc bills were charged off in july/aug and now I have 7 chargeoffs. I am working now and I can afford to pay the bills off, I just do not know where to start. I have always had fair to good credit, now since the chargoffs my FICO score is in the low 500's. How can I bring up my score? Will it ever be good again? How do I address the chargeoff's? will they ever come off or will it take 7 years for them to go away? Everything feels hopeless. Any advice would be great, thanks.

They will then set up a payment plan though you will have no access to the accounts. Once you make all payments as agreed you wind up with a pristine payment history on said account.

The OCA (Pinnacle) that Sears sold my account to is harrassing me and uses abusive, derisive language (one "CSR" - term used loosely - laughed at me a few weeks ago because my car was repo'd and said I deserved what I got because of my bad credit). That is in blatant violation of the debt collection contact the FTC and keep a log of your conntacts withe these people making sure you get name etc... give them an estimated time as to when this contact occured and the excat language that was used.
