Netspend card email

I had a netspend card years ago and haven't used it in about 3 years. Today I got an email from them saying that I have a negative balance and to fund the account to continue to use it. I don't know why I'm now getting an overdraft. If I don't pay this will it get reported to the credit beureaus? And I don't even have the card anymore to log in with it.

Re: Netspend card email

Was it setup for "pay as you go" or one of their monthly plans with a monthly fee? There is also an inactivity fee for every 90 days of inactivity.

It was set up for pay as you go.

Re: Netspend card email

Then you're probably being hit with inactivity fees. Technically it's a checking account, I have never defaulted on a checking account but I would assume it will at least hit your chexsystems eventually if you ignore it.
