I have an old late payment negative item (6 years 3 months).
It appears on one bureau's credit report but not another. (it used to appear on all credit reports).
When will it leave all my reports?
can i get the bureau that has the negative item to remove it because it no longer appears on the other reports?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
Typically should fall of after 7 years, sometimes it does fall off early; however, the bureaus are rigidly independent of each other, they won't delete information because the others don't have it... technically having more information is a competitive advantage for them over the others.

Nope. A policy like that would easily be abused. You can dispute invalid information but "not falling off yet" doesn't fall under invalid information.

There's no harm in asking the CRA for an early exclusion of this late. You can call and ask; no disputing involved.
You can also ask the institution that reported the negative to remove it. In a goodwill letter or other approach.

Hi Bman. I have the same situation. Collections account from 2009 (Paid in full) was removed early by Equifax & Transunion, but still being reported by Experian. My guess was that EQ & TU removed the account at their discretion and Experian has not.
I want to call the collection agency and ask them to remove account from Experian but I'm concerned that they might turn around and get it put back on my TU & EQ reports. I don't know if they can do that but that is what is keeping from getting in touch with CA.
