Paid Collection Removed - ERC??? BBB a FACTOR???

Good Evening Everyone, I recently received an alert from Wallet Hub and wanted to immediately share and solicit your feedback. I've been going toe to toe with Enhanced Recovery Systems collecting on behalf of Direct TV over a paid collection that they said they would remove once I paid in which I did as agreed. This was a verbal agreement with nothing in writing.

First let me say that I'm not completely sure this collection was legit to begin with. I say this with all honesty being that I had my house foreclosed on in 2012. This was the only point in time that I had Direct TV and oddly this last bill is for 2013. I did indeed cancel the service - again a verbal communication over the phone with Direct and mailed equipment as instructed at the time. Up until today I had only been able to get removed from EX and EQ. However, TU has been giving me fits. I've disputed about 3 times as of today and just as recently as today I received confirmation that the debt had again been verified as legit. EX and EQ took me 1 dispute and 48 hours later it was removed.

About 2 weeks ago I went on the BBB website and filed a complaint against ERC and hadn't heard anything. In fact I called their 800 number today and asked if there was anything I could do. The lady quickly shut me down and said they don't pay for deletes. Okay...so I called again and got a gentleman. Before I even went into it with him I asked him if he could locate my account by SS#. He obliged and suddenly said that he needed to get a supervisor he asked me to hold.

A few minutes later he returned and said that he needed to transfer me to the Presidents office....PRESIDENT OFFICE!!??. He instructed me to please leave a voicemail that no one was in today. He also said they would call me back promptly on Monday morning and even gave me their number. Then I get this!!! Please my fellow MF'ERS!!!! TELL ME THIS IS REAL AND I'M NOT DREAMING!!!!!???? Please tell me Wallet Hub isn't full of it because NO ONE ELSE HAS REPORTED THIS CHANGE! WALLET HUB 1.PNGWALLET HUB 2.PNG

Wow. I think this is for real and I think the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Congrats. CK is also good at reporting changes quickly. Check with them.

Ok, when I saw MF’ers, it took me a second to realize you weren’t calling us names. 😂🤣😂🤣

Lol! 😂Thanks for the reply CI. I’ve been waiting for a reply from the crew all night and morning! You just made this Christmas morning for me! 😊 I figured this would get more posts. But oh well.

Yes I’ve been checking CK all night and morning too. No change from CK at this point. That’s why I’ve been skeptical! This is my last collection. I was able to get ERC removed from EQ and EX - just not TU until maybe now! I received a 56 point bump when EX deleted. It’s less than 2 year old derogatory from 2017.

I saw MF’ers used on here and I just seemlessly typed it last night! 😂🤣😂🤣 Think I should run $1 CCT? I’ve been debating this. Just don’t want to waste the pull if for some reason FICO hasn’t updated yet.

If anyone is ever curious - TU: 38 point bump! Relentless persistence is the key! I stayed on them like white on rice! Now to work on these lates (30,60) that are almost 4 years old.

Appreciate it! I’m trying to get on your level with Amex! :-). They denied me the BCE. I had 15 points higher EX than I do now. Last baddie was almost 4 years ago. Might see where I stand once my SSL hits any day. They were my 3rd inquiry in 12 months!

Delta doesn’t really benefit me and Im an investor on some Marriott hotels so no Hilton for me! 😂

Re: Paid Collection Removed - ERC??? BBB a FACTOR???

You could still shoot for the Delta though - even if you don’t fly it, it’s one of the easiest cards to get from AmEx since it’s co-branded and the underwriting is more lenient. The core cards are more strict and it’s going to take near 700 to qualify but Delta would be a way to get in and ease your future ability to get those core cards in the future since you’ll see all of your prequals in your account.

That alone would be worth apping and I doubt Marriott would freeze your accounts if you went for the Hilton lol...

Any idea on the SPG requirements? I believe it’s the Starwood. Marriott just bought them.
