Pay for Delete

When you get a creditor or collction agency to agree to a PFD, is it typically for the full amount owed or a smaller percentage or does it vary case by case? thanks!

It's totally up to you. IMO, you should always pay the full balance if you agree to it because 1) right thing to do, 2) increases odds of them accepting, 3) won't report as paid for less than full, 4) increases your odds of having the acct deleted in its entirety if a GW is sent.

If you send a check included with a PFD letter, and on the check you list the following in comments,  "cashing this check is acceptance to delete incorrectly reported credit information"

Would that help? Anyone ever done this?

You can send with restrictive endorsement. However, 1st...I wouldn't send a check....you really want a CA to know your banking info? and 2) With that endorsement.........all they have to do is correct what is wrong...........not delete the entire TL.
