Payments

Just curious, how many of you pay your bills online?

I have gone so far, as to changing insurance companies because the one

did not have online payment.

If I had to take a guess, it has been 5+ years since I had to mail a bill.

one of the best things about online payments IMHO, is knowing when the payment will hit the bank.

Re: Payments

Everything I have is paid online, either by my initiating it each month, or by automatic drafts on fixed payments (mortgage, utility budget plan, Comcast, etc.)

My 80-year-old mother does the same.

I'm not at all sure where the stamps and envelopes are these days!

Re: Payments

We pay all of our CCs and utilities online. I don't use our bank's bill pay service; I read too many stories in here of payments not going through. But we will go to each individual website and make a payment. All of our payments go through within 1-2 days so there's no guessing when this or that clears, as you mentioned.

Re: Payments

Have not had the courage to go auto pay yet,

I have to admit, I do get some satisfaction from paying the bill

every month.

Re: Payments

Ezover,

I pay everything online.  I don't think I've written a check since I lived in an apartment.  I would seriously have to take some time to even find a checkbook.  I work for a bank and all too often things get lost when mailed in, or they go to the wrong department and just die there.

Re: Payments

Late to the party, but I pay everything online that allows online payments, which includes my mortgages for my rentals. My primary mortgage is a commercial loan and they don't accept online payments. Other than that, everything else is paid online. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Re: Payments

I pay everything online with the execption of one storage rental that does not have online access.  That one is paid by check.  They get a kick out of looking each month to see that my check number to them is the next sequential number.  They just can't believe that people use the Internet to pay bills.  Of course, I'm in the deep south and folks are a little slower to change down here.  We still have mom & pop groceries and kids still say "yes sir" and "yes ma'am".  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Re: Payments

Thanks for the replys I was curious.

I still have some friends and family who don't trust paying online.

Being able to pinpoint payment dates and confirm that it was paid is priceless to me.
