Re: Please, please, please - Relevant thread titles - the benefits

Ya know hauling...I'm very discouraged at this point. All of my titles have been completely relevant to my question/problem yet I am not getting any responses. My posts are very detailed and I also bullet point the main idea/questions for those that just like to "get to the point" (just in case I write a novel). I'm covering all bases yet no responses...Can you tell me what the deal is?

Re: Please, please, please - Relevant thread titles - the benefits

I happen to agree with you.  I won't go as far as to say I don't get ANY responses but they are far and few between.  And, I do try to make the title what its about.  I tend to ramble so there fore I have colored my actual questions, specially when no one would answer.  I even had several post where I was thrilled because someone else wanted to know the answer to my question and they bumped for me, still no answer .. I don't like bumping although I understand why sometimes it's needed.  I also find that part way through my conversation it ends and I can't ever get my finishing questions answered ... it's frustrating.  I have read and read and read more on here ... I actually think some of the best posts are those posts answered with a link to go read it as some are just lazy and/or don't know which direction to go.

There should be some kind of tag that lets you know someone replied to your post.  Example, if someone responds to my question or delema and I reply now with a question back to that person ... if they don't pick up your thread again because its 4 pages back ... they never answer you because they don't know its there.  I don't know if that's possible, just thinking out loud.

One other thing and I'll stop rambling ... if someone is just on myfico to rebuild and they don't have loan questions or credit card questions they may never look at a post like this in "general credit".  So all the people over at the rebuild your credit tread don't even know this is being discussed and therefore keep titling there posts ... "I need help, where to start?"

Done, Veee

You keep reading my mind Vee!! Case in point, I wonder why no one has responded to our last 2 posts???? Maybe relevancy and shortness has nothing to do with it. Maybe it's timing...if the post is at the top when mods or whoever happen to be on then it "may" get responded to considering it is properly titled and short.Smiley Surprised

Re: Please, please, please - Relevant thread titles - the benefits

You know you may be on to something here ... I sat here one night going back and forth with someone who had great advice and was trying to help me.  It was 2am my time, on a work night and I couldn't even think anymore but I didn't want to lose the oppurtunity to get my answer while I finally had someone talking to me.

Trying to keep it short!

Re: Please, please, please - Relevant thread titles - the benefits

This credit biz is gruesome! It's like studying for finals with a million notes...no direction from the teacher..."Just Know It All" they say...Oh yeah, like I'll ever study anybody's whole book and live to pass the test. Smiley Very Happy Not my style...I need bullets, main ideas, step 1,2,3...leave out the in between...I'm just trying to get a house...that's all...and maybe a little knowledge to pass on to my children so they NEVER have to do this...not that the forum isn't great...but I kinda want to prevent the accident rather than compliment the hospital for having a wealth of information on how to treat the wounds! Oops, rambling again Smiley Surprised

One more thing, credit shouldn't be this hard. Oh but that's a whole other thread...matter of fact, I think I'll start one right now.

Would you all be so kind as to put enough information in the title of your posts so that I know if I might have something to contribute to the discussion?  Smiley Happy  It will save me lots of time.  Now thast the boards are getting so busy ( a very good thing) many of us have insufficient time to read all the threads we might be able to contribute to.  Hence the title is very important.  With 40 active threads and 20 of them new, a title that is infomative would help, a title that tells me nothing about the content might well be ignored for lack of time.

And I can be as rude and blunt as I like about this because I am not a Moderator  Smiley Very Happy

Better titles gett better responses

Thanking you in advance....

I have no desire to be Mod on a board that specializes in Citizen Band Radio, thank you very much  Smiley Very Happy

Come to think of it, I have no desire to a mod on any board on any subject in any language in any country in the world  Smiley Very Happy

When I grow up, I'm gonna be just like MV. Smiley Happy

Veee and reddkaandy, where are you posting? I'm going to have to log off here, but I'll try to hunt down your posts later. The usual problems with no responses are:
  • it's on the wrong board --no one there knows, and they don't want to reply saying "I don't know"
  • the initial post might be too long and it scares people off, although colors and bullets do help
  • it has been tacked on to an existing post, and it's either completely irrelevant to the original question, or it's on one of the gi-normous threads started in June 07 or something, and no one has the heart to even read it, much less reply. (this is typically a newbie problem; I don't think y'all are doing this)
  • something good is on TV (never try posting on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the fall with a lot of good football on), or the economy is imploding and people are too worried or distracted to think through your problem. Smiley Sad

I hardly ever post on Rebuilding, because I am completely and utterly clueless as to most of the issues, and I don't want to mislead anyone.

Well, OK, I found one of the posts, and per the instructions found there, I can't reply. Smiley Sad

Still looking for the other one.
