Why not just cancel the card if it only has a 1k limit?

I've had many documents notarized at Chase and WF. I've even had WF do medallion guarantees (sort of a super notary for financial certs). I've never been charged for these.


I have reestablished credit over the last couple years
so my moniker is, well, rather out of date.

Basically the damage was done when the account was opened.  As long as it is closed with a zero balance the only effect is to utilization.
