Providian help needed and problem a few more. Please

Could someone tell me if this right. They have me as being late even after the account was closed and charged off. Can they do this?

This is a grey area.. Charge off only removes the balance due from the asset category of a company's accountings. It doesn't eliminate the debt. It doesn't mean the debt is no longer due. It doesn't mean the debt is not PAST DUE, and getting more so by the month. Unfortunately.  Debts can (and usually ARE) still collected after charge off. Interest can be added to charged off amounts as long as it's part of the contract and allowed by law.
 
So, it theoretically could be reported as late or a CO every time they report the account.
