Question

My Sears card had a limit of 1000 but in Dec of 07 I went over the limit to 1251.  Since then I have paid it down to under one hundred dollars. The high balance is stil at 1251 though, how much is that hurting my score and for how long ??

I dont think it is affecting your score at all.  FICO scores don't know about past util.  Someone will see it if the read your CR but I think they only people who might (I say might) have an issue is the CCC you went over limit on.
 
They only potentail FICO score affect I see is if the CCC lowers your CL or raise your ionterest rate.
