Realtor lost my RENTAL APPLICATION! help!

my realtor just told me that the third party credit check company lost my rental application in their outgoing mail and my documents either went to my address or someone else's.  they dont know where.

what should/can i do?

my rental app had ALL my info including bank account numbers.

I would start watching your credit reports immediately, and maybe even join EQ Scorewatch or True Credit to make sure that nothing is opened in your name.  Also, I would contact your bank's fraud department and explain the situation to them.  They can tell you the best way to proceed.

what can i do in regards to my realtor and the 3rd party credit card company?

they were so nonchalant when informing me that they could have mailed my personal info to someone else

I would do the polite-but-firm thing and tell the third-party credit company (if they're the ones who bobbled this) that they owe you one year of credit monitoring on all three bureaus.

eta: and perhaps educate your realtor about the importance of personal identity theft, and maybe look into other realtors. I'd be pretty upset if my realtor blew off this sort of thing.

Yes definitely make them pay to monitor all three credit reports!
