Revenue Group (no notice)

Hello,

Thanks in advance!  Revenue group posted a purchased debt from a hospital on my credit report.  The debt was never sent to me by revenue group and I didn't get a notice they even had the debt.  Is this legal?  They added the debt without notice to give me any time to see whether it was mine or not.

Re: Revenue Group (no notice)

They have to send a dunning notice when taking over an account, but there really isn't any way to verify that they did or not, it's more like they just need to attempt to contact you. If they can provide a copy of the dunning notice, there's nothing you can do.

Debt collectors are only required to send a dunning letter containing the 30-day validation notice after making an initial communication.  Otherwise, the FDCPA makes no requirement that they send a letter.   Check your state collection laws.
