Seemingly unnecessary comments on my credit report

Back in June 2018 I had to let a mortgage payment go a bit over 30 and it had drastic implications on my credit report, including reduction of available credit on several cards and Lowe's cancelling me all together, even though I'd never missed a payment.

So okay, fair enough. My fault. But I paid Lowe's off and the comments read CBG. Got it. Closed By Grantor.

In January 2019 they went silent and then suddenly my last report they show up again, $0 balance, CBG.

Why are they actively commenting on a closed account, closed in good standing?

On the road!

Does it matter?  Did your scores change?

CBG or CBC doesn't really make a difference either way as long as the positive payment history is there.
