Re: Speeling rant

Actually, I type about 300 words a minute (well, something like that Smiley Happy ...) and my fingers get all tangled up, sometimes.  Smiley Wink

Doncha hate it when the misspelled word is in the subject line and you can't fix it? LOL

I misspelled (misspelt?) it on purpose.  Partly for the irony, and partly because people would be less likely to read something about spelling.

Hehe.. I do relate, though; the advice/advise thing is a pet peeve of mine. Ok, so it's one of many spelling pet peeves.

Watch, someone will tell you 'misspelt' is improper and argue the point.. LOL

Re: Speeling rant

I know it can be fun to vent so I will add my pet peeve to the mix: when people say they could care less. UGHHHH! If you could care less, then YOU CARE. The expression is "I could NOT care less" and dropping the not gives the opposite meaning. My other pet peeve is when people pronounce nuclear with two u's, i.e. nuke-u-lar. But since I am moving to the south, I better get used to it.

That said, I probably make forty spelling/grammar mistakes a day so I better be careful about passing judgment, or judgement, or whatever. Smiley Happy
Filed Chapter 13 April 2012. Case successfully closed May 2017, about 1 month after 60th payment. FAKO scores on close date: TU 695 EQ 697. Received discharge July 11th - took forever! Real EX day of discharge 624.

Oh oh, I have one.  This is true Philly slang.  "Yous [pronounced use] guys."  I can't stand it.  Makes my skin crawl.Smiley Very Happy

Re: Speeling rant

My pet peeve:  "hopefully" when it's not used as an adverb.

"Hopefully, my FICO score will improve."

WRONG! Your score itself is incapable of feeling.  It isn't sitting around hoping it will improve (ain't that the truth).

CORRECT:  "Hopefully, I check my FICO score every hour."

Well, if you go to UK, you will find "momentarily" has a different  meaning  Smiley Very Happy
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Ugggghhhhhhhhh, I hate the nuke-u-lar thing, too; I'm from Texas (south, but not really considered south..lol) and we deal with nuclear terminology DAILY where I work. Even some of the engineers and manufacturers who work with and design placement of the equipment say it that way.

And just to clarify - you should care less about passing judgement! That's my advise for the day!
