Student loans and Personal Loans

Hey guys!

I am here to ask what are the best student loans out there? I have been looking at Discover, Ascent Tuition, College Ave and Sallie Mae.  I have been taking out Wells Fargo student loans the past 3 years, however I was denied for some reason this past month.  I am just looking to expand my options.  

Also, If i apply for a personal loan of about $5,500 to pay off an collections account, would this affect my chances of getting approved for a student loan?

Have you looked into obtaining a federal student loan?

Federally insured or guaranteed student loans have many attractive features, including deferrment of payments and rehab provisions for any first delinquency.

To add to this.  The rates are not bad on them either as I went this route.
