Hello I tried to apply for a auto loan online and the car salesman told me that when he tried to open up my credit file it said it was suppressed it won't let him open it up. Does anyone know what this mean??

Did you file any fraud alerts? According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), a credit bureau must block “the reporting of any information” resulting from “an alleged identity theft.” And the FTC provides some additional context, noting this includes any “line item on a credit report reflecting an account the consumer did not open or a transaction the consumer did not make.
