I have a state tax lien on my credit report (12/04) for $112. It was paid in 2007. I never received paper work stating it was paid. I didn't know there was anything else I had to do until I came to this site.
So I contacted the attorney general, they sent me paper work to take to the court house to get it paid & released. I was told by the woman at the court house when I send in the papers to the 3 credit agencies it will be REMOVED from my reports...is this true??? From what I've read here it won't come off for 7 years from paid date, but i was assured it would come off, not just state paid???!!!!
I'm not sure what to believe.
