I have had an HSBC Direct savings account for about 4 years or so. When I signed up it was something like 5.45% its been going down ever since just like all savings accounts. I think it is at 1.1%. My brother has had his ING for some time now and seems to like it. One cool thing about HSBC is that earlier this year they sent me a preapproved credit card offer in the mail. I took a chance considering this would be my first unsecured card. They instant approved for $1500 CL. I was very suprised. I didn't think I would be approved.
You have to be careful about HSBC and Discover, since my cousin often complained about their customer services. She espeically don't like HSBC, she always get redirected to a CSR in India.
