Theft assailant returned to CR company again

So, after childhood theft from a parent and 11 years of fighting it. TU comes and puts the alias name and birthday back onto my report. Do I really have to keep dealing with this over and over. Or should I send a Cease and Desist because they obviously don't get the message after 8 years of disputing continuously.

Re: Theft assailant returned to CR company again

If I understand correctly, another party is reporting information to the CRA using your identity, and the CRA is accepting their reporting?

If so, file a police report, send it to the CRA, and request an extended fraud alert and an immediate block of that reported information from your credit report under FCRA 605B.

Then file a complaint with the FTC for CRA acceptance of reporting without proper proof of identity from the reporting consumer.

Well I can't get it too noticeable to the authorities. Its a parent and its from 12+ years ago.

I have 10 dispute letters from last ten years removing it and acceptance. I don't know who keeps putting it back... But its off again for now need to check other 2.

I did fraud 10 years ago... Bad idea. EX deleted entire file to not open till 1 /2 years ago when student loans hit. At 29 thats rough after years of positive loan accounts and info.

I just want them to stop accepting it, he had info on prior deletions and did it instantly on phone.

No I got the run around today 3 different calls.

Call True Credit they run the website- Call TU they have the credit file- As before, call True Credit- We only manage web information, Call TU- ...

Finally TU said they don't not release their clientels information...

I'm years beyond sick of the big 3 CA.

Re: Theft assailant returned to CR company again

FCRA 609(a)(1) imposes an express requirement on a consumer reporting agency to provide "all information in the consumer's file at the time of the request."

So they cannot refuse to provide any information in your credit file.

Section 609(a)(1) requests must be accompanied by proof of your identity (copy of gvt ID, recent bill showing your address, etc.) and the required processing fee, which is currently $11.00.  Clearly specify what information you want, and they must comply.

I qouted them that. The CSR put me on hold, they said they can't tell me who put it there, but they can tell me when it was put there. I'm sending written specific request CD and a written warning. Hopefully they will tell me so I can send that company a cease and desist.

OP, if not mentioned already, try fixing it again. If you happen to pull your CRs frequently (e.g. multiple times monthly), you can monitor your CR and as you see the demogrpahic info change, you can then pin point which TL changed. It's something reporting from time to time on your CR that's causing the info to update.

Re: Theft assailant returned to CR company again

I would pull the report from annualcreditreports.com its free you do not need a score. Oncew you have the report number call TU directly.. The creit monitering service may not have that info in  the data they get back form TU.
