I have a 500 overdraft line of credit with my checking account and I want to use the it with out over drawing every month to show usage... the question is will that help build my credit?

I've had one of those with a CU and mine reported every month to all 3 CRA without using it. Why not ask the CU they'll have the best answer for you.

It will report each month no matter if you use it or not.  I wouldn't use it just to show usage.  LOC TLs are scored the same as credit cards.  Let your credit cards report each month before PIF is the best way to build revolving credit history.
