I have been with USAA since 2012 and I have seen a lot of changes with them they used to have a lot of offers and was helpful if you needed now when you deal with them it's more like they are a bank and not really their to help you out. During covid they helped with auto insurance (gave credits) but I had other policy's and they said no help with them I could them and when I could get at a later time. Now they are changing thing with their credit cards changing how points are able to be used. Reps are less them helpful ad they act like they don't care
The bank you referenced has had many challenges in their operations starting clear back to 2015 and has been cited by Federal Agencies for their not running in accordance with best practices and required banking rules (if that is what it is called).
If my memory is right, the San Antonio Express-News is one that wrote the bank up. For reasons unknown to me, the challenges to the bank did not really hit the big news. Also, Google is our friend and reading the actual Federal Reserve Reports is ever mind boggling.
The bank has paid out millions in fines over the last few years. Elsewhere in this Forum there were postings on the bank. Your findings match mine!
For myself, I walked away to a different bank after reading about the bank's mis-management of customer information security which was reported in March-April 2022. Heavy fines were again levied. Like another very major bank this one needs a good cleanup (house keeping) or closing
In summary, it was not good.
been with them 11 years, have been some issues but compared to a BOA chase WF, hands down way better and been with navy fed 35 years
