For me, my vantage score(s) hates utilization over 9%, maxed out cards (my current grocery card limit isn't high enough and I just let it report anyway) and a card that's had a zero balance suddenly reporting a balance of any kind. Version 3 seems more sensitive then version 4 but my scores are 50-75 points lower than my FICO 8 scores usually.
As I said, its more the bouncing up and down by such a big number that has me befuddled. Not so much the difference between vantage and fico. But maybe its a new version that they are tweaking or something. Its just bounced back up again, 78 points.....
But if no lenders really use it, why does it bother you? It's honestly way too volatile and not worth stressing over.
Vantage scores are much more fluctuating than the FICO ones.
As said before, if banks would use Vantage scores, we all would have a big problem.
Currently I have a 70-80 points difference between FICO and Vantage with FICO being around ~740.
Mine have been surprisingly stable (at least for TU and EQ, I don't know my VS3.0 EX). Currently they're slightly higher than my FICO 8 scores and 20-30 points below my below my FICO 9 scores.

Funny enough, my FAKO scores have been doing the same lately (past month). No major changes to report, and my FICOs have all been steady. I actually lowered my UTL from like 28% down to 8% and it showed my score lowered by like 75 points, while FICO showed an increase of a few points.
No need to worry about this as long as FICO seems correct.
