Alliant will only pull EX if there is trouble with them trying to "read" your TU file. They were unable to view the file after it was pulled, so they offered to pull EX or EQ instead. They REQUIRE a pull from TU to start with and will proceed with a pull from a different bureau if there's a problem.
As for Jovia, I've had them in the past. They're solidly meh as well as their products. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Correct about Alliant. Applied the other day for the signature and my TU file was to big they got the HP, but provided the error and having the inquiry removed(due to some weird system limitation their system has with TU file size as mine is huge) and offered to pull Experian which I gave them permission for although they didn't offer EQ as would of preferred that as only have 3 inquiries on that, but didn't ask if they could pull that. It was my Experian 08 score they pulled and not vantage on the cost of of credit oticed I received.
exact email I got from their UW by mail system:
"
Good morning. We received the following error with Transunion;
Bureau response unreadable. "ERROR: The length of the credit report you requested is longer than 99999"
It appears the report is too large. If you want to continue, we would need to pull Experian and we will remove the inquiry from Transunion."

That's definitely a bit strange. Same exact situation, but when they pulled EX, it came back as a Vantage 4.0 as according to the loan dept unless the agent was wrong. My F8 is at 779, so there's no possibility it could've been anything but that except maybe F2.

I suppose my vantage could of been exact same as 08, but unlikely. I know at time my Exp was 791 as was just on their site and had 791 score and that is what I got at cost of credit on their disclosoure on approval. So think it was 08 unless as mentioned vantage was exactly the same as pulled Experian after and 791 was shown again on Experians site after updated report from their inquiry that one gets for free.
Hey Barry,
I am a big fan of numbers & data. I would be very interested in your HP/SP Chex list or non-Chex CU's. I am looking to app a few CU's with my Chex on ice. Can you assist?
Also, I know a few that pull Mortgage scores, that list would be invaluable. My TU4 & EXP2 are few points higher than 8/9's, EQ is lower & of course been waiting to app at SECU MD, who pulls EQ5.
last year when i was in the market for a HELOC, Alliant pulled Vantage 4.0 for scoring purposes. Syncrony is the only bank which I know of that provides your monthly Vantage 4.0 score. there was another bank that used Vantage also, but I can't remember.
I posted last year saying to be careful telling people Vantage scores don't matter because some banks actually use that score, and I got cyber attacked for my comment. LOL
