I refi'd my mortgage back in September, and all 3 credit bureaus are still showing the account open, but Equifax is still reporting the mortgage amount.. .making it seem like i have double the amount ... making my income to debt ratio look horrible. Is this something that can be disputed or should I just wait for it to balance out. I'm not looking for new credit any time soon so I can wait if that is the best course of action.
thanks (and I"m sorry if ithis is in the wrong bucket, but this is where I normally post)

you run the slight risk that if you dispute for balance issues the entire account goes away but I would prefer the account gone over having a huge balance but guess that would depend on how many years you had that mortgage. If you can't risk it being deleted, then you should call the original mortgage holder and ask them to send updates to the credit reports that it's paid in full and closed in good standing as you are still showing it open... they should be able to do that with no problem.
thanks.
