how to mail?

I have bunch of letters that need to be mailed-- one to each of the bureaus to remove a judgment, letters to remove unauthorized inquries, and paid in full letters to the bureaus.

So here is my question:  how do I mail these?  Regular mail?  Certified?

Thanks!

Re: how to mail?

It's hard to say without more specifics as to what (exactly) you're mailing, and to whom, but as a general rule of thumb:

  • Credit Reporting Agencies (Transunion, Experian, Equifax, ChexSystems) - certified mail no return receipt required
  • Collection Agencies - Certified mail, return reciept requested (CMRR)
  • Original Crediors - regular mail for goodwill, certified mail or possibly CMRR for requests for account information on disputed accounts or correspondence with collection departments of OCs
