lien???

H & R block jacked up our taxes and two years later it finally got squared away.  We paid the IRS alot of money, then some of it was refunded, then we were told we owe again.  H & R block told us not to pay the last amount because they were responsible for it and they would pay the difference because it was their mistake.  Two years later we are in the clear.

Bottom line:  a Lien is on our credit score and is a huge red flag and hurting the score horribly!  One, I don't know much about this stuff, so I do not really know what this means.  And two, how does this go away or get fixed?????

Please help, I'm not too knowledgable about this but I do know its not good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for any responses and help or advice....

Re: lien???

Okay, this is what I would do:

If H&R screwed up, they need to get one of their tax lawyers (whom I assure you will know how to deal with this situation) to negotiate with the IRS and have the tax lien "vacated" or "dismissed."

Typically, this is one of those services that you pay for when you use their services. At least, it always was when we used them!!

DOES H&R know that you have a lien on your CRs??? Call them. Now. Otherwise it will be on your reports for 7 years from the paid date.
