I only hold one credit card and that is from Capital One. I bet it does not report to Trans Union as I was trying to register at truecredit and it could not
find anything about me from my social security #.
Do I need to get other credit cards to get "recognized" by TU ? Does these agencies only know you from the credit card or any other form of credit ?
Yes, it is possible to have a credit file with one CRA and not another. It depends on who the creditor reports to.
You can either get another one and make sure it reports to TU or call Cap One and find out if they will report to TU.
This one CC is your only credit?
It is.
I am an immigrant who came here in dec. 08. And I have never defaulted in payments.
I wonder which CC reports to TU ?
Almost all CC's report to all three CRB's. If you have a candidate post a question and you will get an answer.
You are not the first person to discover that your Cap One card is not reporting to TU. I recall two other members recently describing the same phenomenon.
Almost all cards from major banks report to all three bureaus. To give you some examples, which I think you were asking for, the following cards of mine all appear on all 3 bureaus:
American Express Costco card
Two Chase accounts
Citibank gas card
Bank of America
Discover
Home Depot (store card, not their co-branded Visa or MC card [can't remember what they issue])
Macy's Visa
I'm sure others on these boards would be willing to give you other specific examples of cards that report to TU.
Thanks Mod for the detailed info.
We are Costco members in Pittsburgh and I am asking my wife to get their credit card.
It's AMEX card with me as the authorized user, hope that would report to TU.
I am certain the Capital One does not report to TU.
Just to clarify, for the vast majority of Cap One cardholders out there, their accounts do report to TU and the other CRAs. As suggested earlier, you could call them and ask them to report to TU as well.
My wife is an AU on my Costco/Amex card, and it appears on her credit reports, too.

There are widespread reports that Macy's Visa does not report the VISADSNB TL to TU. I have one and it is not reporting on TU. Are you unequivocally stating that you have a Macy's Visa and and that the Visa TL is currently reporting to TU?

Check that - the Macy's TL is reporting, but the Visa is not. Thanks for pointing that out.
I can say unequivocally that I was not intentionally trying to mislead the original poster.
ETA: Still, the point remains that the Macy's card does report to all 3 bureaus, though the Visa portion does not. The Macy's TL is there (unequivocally
) on my TU report. It's a nuance, but nevertheless a Macy's card in good standing would help the OP build a credit history at all 3 bureaus, but he/she wouldn't see the benefit of a double tradeline reporting on TU like it does on EQ and EX.
ROTFL !!
I am not too broken up that my Macy's Visa TL is not reporting on TU. That means I didn't take the age hit there which is another reason I am "oh so closer" to becoming a TU FICO High Achiever!
