paid off loan not reporting

I had a 60 month personal loan with citibank that I paid off 15 months in. Due date was always the 30th of the month, I made the November payment and then I paid it off on 12/06/18. The next day I called in to verify and asked if they could notify all the CRAs. They acknowledged it was paid, but refused to notify the agencies until the "next statement date." A week later the punks sent me a statement dated 12/10/18 with the same "Statement Closing Date."

I have checked my TU/EQ reports weekly with CK and EX with experian and my other accounts are updating. As of today citibank has still not notified any CRAs, as of today CK still shows the balance, payment, and last reported date of 11/30/18. How much longer should I wait before I dispute it with the CRAs?

I feel like it inflated my DTI on a recent app I was denied for, I have about 20 days left to recon, but my report is exactly the same as when I first applied.

Re: paid off loan not reporting

Do you have something in writing stating that you paid off your loan in full by "**/**/**** date?" If so, send a copy of that in with your recon.

Re: paid off loan not reporting

It's possible that Citi notified the three CRAs a week ago and the updated record has not yet made its way into the CRA database.  That can happen, particularly during or shortly after the holidays.

When was your last Karma pull dated?  (Karma only refreshes its data every 7 days.)

If you don't have a WalletHub membership this might be a good time to get one, since WH gives you a daily update for TU.

If you are able to get a fresh pull on at least two of the three bureaus on Tues AM with still no updated record, I'd give Citi a call and and ask them if they have updated the record with the CRAs and if so when.  Be sure to call between 9 am and 3 pm Eastern time on a business day (not a weekend or holiday) or you run the risk of getting someone who doesn't know what he's talking about.  And be sure to be friendly and polite -- avoid calling them punks.

I have the statement the punks sent me a week after I made the payoff payment.

WalletHub?  yacms!  I will take a look and join if it is free.  Thanks.

Yes, my CK updates weekly.  The freshest update was 01/11 and all my other accounts have been updating with CK (including a citi credit card), only the citibank loan has not.

lol, I'm always polite, just being a little facetious here.  I will make a call Tues.
