They stay for 7.5 years from the paid date... Look for inaccuracies, if you find any: Dispute, dispute, dispute. Otherwise they stay until aged off.

Rob,

Can't he also try GW letters to the CA/OC for the paid charge-offs/collections?

Closed accounts stay on for 10 years.  The baddies drop after 7 to 7.5 years.

And closed accounts contribute to age!
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Personally, I'd look for ANY inaccuracies in the reportingh and dispute... Could try a GW but rare to see a GW letter effect a paid CO.

I tried a GW letter to one of my CO that i paid last year...They replied back saying that they can't do it. However, my EX report had the comments changed to "Closed/Never Late" instead of "Paid/Chargeoff"...my EQ and TU still say Chargeoff though.
