trying to get 6pionts

i recently used an old dept store card knowing it had not been used in over  a year, showing no activity, i charged the card hoping to boost my credit score up 6 pionts , do u any one know if it would boost it up 6 pionts and how , what , and when will it boost my score?

No one can accurately predict what any particular action will have on a person's score because there is no way to know all the details of your reports. You'll know if what you did will have any effect when the charges go through and the creditor reports to the CRA's and you pull your score. You'll just have to wait and see.

I dont see, at first look, how this would have a postiive FICO impact,. if the account is still active.

It may dissuade them from closing the account on their own in initiative due to inactivity, and thus forstall a future drop in your score due to reduced CL.

Probably a good move to preserve its future CL. but I dont see any immediate FICO gain.

The one FICO category where you can get immediate point gains is % util of revolving credit.  That category has no historical memory.

What is your current % util, and how much can you immediately reduce it?
