A Question for the Experienced Home Buyers

I want to purchase a home at the end of July when my lease is up. When should I realistically get the ball rolling as far as securing a mortgage. I don't want to push closing to close to the end of my lease. I was thinking of closing around the third week in July.

I'm sure other more experienced buyer's would chime in but I would allocate at least two months before you close  just to be safe.

Re: A Question for the Experienced Home Buyers

Yes 2 months to be sure, but I'd recommend 4 months just in case there are items that need to be attended to... you wouldn't want to be left with 2 months to clean items up, and qualify... you'd want to be qualified well before you start looking for a home if a lease is coming up to renew or get out.
