Toolman, your house is beautiful! Love the brick, that style is not common her in Az.
Here in TX, almost all homes are brick.
The city I live in has very strict rules, the property sizes have to be at a min 10,000 SQ FT. 9000 SQ FT is rare but allowed if the lot requires it.
Many homes in town have larger lots.
Dang that's a nice rule! Here in Phoenix, there are many many 50x120 (6,000 sq ft) lots. In the community we bought in, the minimum is 60x120 and we had to pay extra for a "premium" 60x140 lot. It's crazy how narrow the lots are, the size fence is literally 5' from the side of the house, which means then neighbor's house is 10' from yours.
There are other cities in Dallas that do the samething that you descibed. They also have something called zero lot lines and they build patio homes on them.
Your front yard is almost nothing, and the backyard is a patio for the most part.
But our city wont allow it. They have a lot of crazy strict rules, they havent even let a grocery store within city limits.
No grocery store? Where do you go shopping, how close is the nearest one?
Thought that looked like a Phx neighborhood in your photo Mike.
Grocery store is in the next city over, less then a 10 min drive from the house.
