Does anyone know about filing Ch.13 bk in order to delay the foreclosure process for one to pursue a short sale instead? I have been trying to get a short sale done, but to no avail.
I received a notice of sale for my former primary residence in NC.
I had a friend tell me to file for CH.13 to unwind the whole foreclosure process to allow more time to pursue a short sale.
He also mentioned that you would not complete the whole CH 13 process, but just get it started to unwind the whole foreclosure process which allows more time to pursue the short sale.
I am curious to know if anyone has done this and what, if any impact does the ch 13 filing have on one's credit report?
